Run 4 The Arts Miler
Three Rivers College will host the first “Run 4 The Arts” four-mile run/walk on Saturday, September 10 at 9 a .m. at its Poplar Bluff Campus. The event is being held to raise funds towards an endowed scholarship for students (Music, Theater or Art) at Three Rivers College. The event will succeed the Sarah White 5K run/walk event held by Three Rivers since 2012.
“Sarah White’s family was honored to continue her legacy through the Sarah White 5K and the endowed scholarship it helped to fund,” said Michelle Reynolds, Director of Development for Three Rivers College. “Having successfully endowed that scholarship, however, the family felt that this year was a good time to pass this opportunity on to another area of the college.”
Same-day registration begins at 8 a.m. in front of the Bess Activity Center on Three Rivers’ Poplar Bluff Campus. Entry is $15 for individual run, and $5 for a 50-meter “Fun Run” in honor of Three Rivers College’s 50th Anniversary. (Note: “Fun Run” participants do not receive a t-shirt.) The full entry fee includes a t-shirt, while supplies last. Non-runners interested in supporting the event may register as a “virtual runner” for $15, and receive a t-shirt. There will also be a tie-dye station at the end for runners or community members to participate in.
