International Overdose Awareness Day
The International Overdose Awareness Day event will be August 31, 2021, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Guest speakers from Butler Co. Public Health, Three Rivers College, Butler County Coroner and SEMOBH will be speaking on breaking stigmas, the importance of naloxone, the how and why of opioid use, and overdose use trends.
This FREE event is open to the public and will be held at Three Rivers College Plaster Building in Room 108 (first floor/ 2080 3 River Blvd, Poplar Bluff, MO 63901). International Overdose Awareness Day is held each year to raise awareness of overdoses, reduce stigma from drug-related deaths and acknowledge the grief felt by families and friends.
There will also be community based NarCan training, along with a remembrance activity to remember those we have lost. Food and refreshments will be provided.
