On November 19th, the Boy Scouts of America will be collecting food to help the hungry in our
community. Over two million items of food will be collected in one day. All food collected will
be brought to local pantries.
Scouts will be dropping off bags in their local communities on November 12 th and asking
residents to place non-perishable food items in the bag on their front door on November 19 th by
9:00 a.m., so that the Scouts can retrieve the generous food donation.
Items needed include: canned meats/fish, soups, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned
potatoes, canned chili, canned beans, canned beef stew, and peanut butter in plastic jars. Nothing
perishable, frozen, or in glass containers. No outdated or opened items, please.
This food collection is part of Scouting for Food, an effort by Packs and Troops around
our nation to fight hunger.
In keeping with the values of Scouting, Scouts devote themselves to community service.
Along with year-round activities of outings, games and projects, Scouts seek to be of service to
